Derrek Baiche has become more of a regular to TRIPOLI Launches as of late and while he flew his Level 3 Certification flight at another field, we still welcome him and his unique talents.
Here Derrek poses rocket Scottie Jr Sr which he used to pass his L3 cert at another field.
Below the Scottie is loaded with an Ex K-870 at the high power pads that Derrek estimated would reach an altitude of about 8,000' witch would have been one of the highest flights in years at the TRIPOLI Pittsburgh Dragon's Fire Field.
Derek Baiche - Scottie Jr Sr
The Scottie Jr Sr of Derrek Baiche coasts to its apogee at about 85' before turning nose-down and heading for the rockpile.
Just after ignition, the Scottie motor puffs out.
Once the Scottie noses into the rockpile, the ejection charges go off, deploying the recovery system.
Derrek Baiche collects his Scottie Jr Sr from the gravel while guessing what happened. Exact circumstances could not be determined but a problem with the motor was confirmed.
