Jerry Andre - Alien Raider aka "Barney"
The Alien Raider continues upward as the initial J motor finishes its burn.
Jerry Andre's Alien Raider made its maiden flight earlier this year (see here) on a single J motor.
At the September launch he loaded up an air start configuration.
Here Jerry watches Barney head off of the high power pads after ignition of its initial J420 motor.
The red motor is clearly visible in Barney's onboard camera.
Two yellow/white H123 motors ignite 2 seconds after burnout of the J motor.
Barney approaches apogee after burnout of the two H motors.
The main parachute deploys at 500'.
Barney stabilizes after deployment of the main parachute to the east of the high power pads.
Drifiting over the Super Tower.
Winds were strong enough to carry the Alien Raider from east of the high power pads to a point down the hill west of the low power pads.
Despite the winds, Jerry Andre was able to recover his Alien Raider without issue.
At least the Golden Rod was only elbow high.
Great flight Jerry!
