Cobbled together from a number of kits, Rick Shubert brought out his new rocket, the Atomic Piledriver.
"The guy I copied it from called his the Nucular Sledehammer and I had to call it something different so I went with Atomic Piledriver."
Rick Shubert watches his Atomic Piledriver lift off on a J-350 for its maiden flight.
Parachute deployment goes smoothly for Rick Shubert's Atomic Piledriver.
Before launch Rick was asked what he estimated the altitude that the Piledriver would achieve. "I'm guessing between 2,000' and 3,000'", Rick said.
Listening to the beeps of the altimeter Rick realized that it was a tad less than he had estimated. "It made it to 863' this time.", said Rick.
Don't worry Rick, at that altitude it is not likely to end up in the trees. And it was a great first flight for the Atomic Piledriver.
